Spring has truly sprung! April brought a little rain, so much sunshine, and promises of summer on the way! We had a busy month prepping for our business’ prime season, so we found some balance playing outdoors with the girls. No agenda, no place to be, just good old fun outdoor play. The sunshine is so refreshing after a long winter and we are going to ride the outdoor play-all-day mantra for the next six months straight. Since the month seemed to fly by, I’ll keep this monthly recap short and sweet!

Little Library: Baby’s First Christmas Library

Christmas is my favourite time of year, and, given my love for children’s books, it should be no surprise that kids’ Christmas books are one of my all time favourite things! We love to read these stories all month long as we get into the Christmas spirit! This first Christmas list (there’s more to come!) is a series of five little books that are perfect for younger kids age 0-2. Of course both my girls (age 2 & 4) read and love them, but I find these shorter board books particularly good for the littlest of readers! That’s What She Read: 5 Books for YOU

Five books for happiness

If you’re following along, you saw that last week I shared our first set of favourite kid books about love and life in my new Little Library section! We love to read with our girls and I hope they continue to love to read as they grow up. I still remember my sister and I getting in trouble for having the lights on and reading too late! Haha, angels I tell ya!

Next up are some recommendations for us Mamas. Pre kids and post-University– you know that sweet spot when the world is your oyster time-wise (BUT you fail to recognize this and totally waste time?) 😉 I was still reading a lot. Over the past year I’ve made time for reading again, thanks in part to the encouragement of friends– my girlfriend started a self development book club, amazing for accountability–and I can tell you it is so refreshing and important.
