It’s time to celebrate Dads! Father’s Day is Sunday June 18, 2023. Here is a list of local Okanagan activities and events to get out and enjoy as a family! Happy Father’s Day!

Family Events

Go Fish! Father’s Day Weekend

When: June 17, 10 am – 3 pm
Where: Shannon Lake Regional Park and Mission Creek Regional Park (Hall Road entrance)
What: Children can try their hand at fishing on weekends through May and part of June. Hall Road Pond and Shannon Lake will be stocked with trout. Staff will be on hand to teach new fishers. No fishing license required for BC youth aged 15 years and under.

Kelowna Farmer’s & Crafters’ Market Father’s Day Weekend 

When: June 17, 8 am – 1 pm
Where: 1992 Dilworth Dr., Kelowna
What: Live music, great food, local artisans, and lots of fresh produce and meats for the BBQ!

A Reel Fishing Derby 

When: June 17 & 18
Where: Okanagan Lake and surrounding local lakes
What: A fun weekend starting with a fish bake dinner and ending with prizes and Father’s Day Brunch back on Rustic Reel’s patio!

Father’s Day at Okeefe Ranch

When: June 17 & 18, 10 am – 4 pm
Where: 9380 Hwy 97N, Vernon
What: Special activities including: Pet-A-Goat, Blacksmith, Role Play Artists, Live Music, Kids Colouring Corner, Old Fashioned Games, Model Railway, Mansion Tours, Vintage Machinery Displays and more!

Annual Father’s Day Car Show by CSN Collision Centres 

When: June 18, 11 am – 4 pm
Where: City Park, Kelowna
What: Check out the cars, trucks and motorcycles at this annual car show! There will be live entertainment by local bands, a Kids Zone and much more! Proceeds will be going to the Child Advocacy Center of Kelowna.

SBC Father’s Day Classic Car Show

When: June 18, 12:30 pm – 4 pm
Where: Summerland Baptist Church
What: Live music, BBQ, goodies, People’s Choice Trophy, prizes from Akribis Leather, and the much requested Cruise for Cash! Vote for your favourite car and buy a Cruise for Cash ticket to be taken out for a ride in it. All proceeds from this event go to supporting SBC youth and their SERVE trip this summer to go and do community projects in Kelowna.

Craft Culture Father’s Day Market

When: June 18, 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Rotary Centre for the Arts, 421 Cawston Ave
What: Over 90 vendors inside and outside the building, you’re sure to find something unique for every member of your family. Anarchy Coffee Roasters and Shabbang Food Truck will be serving up delicious eats all day long!

Food & Drink

Father’s Day Brunch at Craft

When: Sunday June 16, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: Craft Beer Market, 257 Bernard Ave., Kelowna
What: Enjoy an all you can eat brunch menu, featuring classic breakfast items, the famous Chicken & Waffles and more! Reservations recommended.

Father’s Day Brunch at the Harvest

When: Sunday June 18
Where:2725 K. L. O. Rd, Kelowna
What: A delicious buffet brunch featuring hot and cold stations, pastries, and more. Reservations required.

Wineries & Cideries

Poplar Grove Winery

Father’s Day Sip South East Kelowna

When: June 17, 11 am – 6 pm
Where: 2555 Saucier Road, Kelowna
What: Set off on a self-guided tour of South East Kelowna’s finest wineries, distilleries, and cideries. Collect stamps as you explore and be entered to win a curated basket with products from South East Kelowna’s best spots!

Father’s Day Tailgate BBQ at Phantom Creek

When: June 18, 11 am – 1 pm
Where: 14315 Black Sage Road, Oliver
What: Grill and chill under the South Okanagan sun and join us for an extraordinary tailgate BBQ extravaganza – with Executive Chef Alessa Valdez working the grills! Whisky & “Big Reds” tasting to follow at 1pm in the Phantom Room at Phantom Creek Estates. If you can’t make the event, try Chef Alessa Valdez’s amazing BBQ creations at home with a takeaway boxes. The boxed menu will feature similar fares to what is being enjoyed on-site, including a marinated meat, BBQ sides and a dessert.

Fries at Summer Gate

When: June 18, 12 pm – 6 pm
Where:11612 Morrow Avenue Summerland
What: A family-friendly outdoor food and wine experience! Classic fries and poutine along with loaded burgers and kid’s items too! Try new wine releases, enjoy a poutine and fries, and visit family and friends on the Summer Gate’s patio and picnic area! No reservations necessary, walk ups welcome!

Father’s Day Cream Puff Weekend

When: June 18, 11 am – 6 pm
Where: Arrowleaf Cellars1574 Camp Road, Lake Country,
What: Enjoy freshly made cream puffs, rotating flavours weekly! Arrive early – they sell out quickly! $8 each

Father’s Day Charcuterie Board Class

When:  June 18, 3 pm – 5 pm
Where: Sperling Vineyards, 1405 Pioneer Rd. Kelowna
What: Learn how to build a perfect charcuterie board with your dad or father figure. Ingredients and tools are provided and you get to take your creation home.

Discover Naramata, BC with Your Family

Naramata Family Itinerary

Tucked away on the eastern side of Okanagan Lake in the South Okanagan Valley is quaint and welcoming Naramata, BC. We love this small community for its warm and inviting vibe and the many incredible businesses– from restaurants to coffee shops to stores, wineries and more! It’s a safe little village for families (our kids would love to ride their bikes around here) and is small enough to walk to all amenities. Just over an hour from Kelowna made this the perfect place for a family weekend getaway! Check out our itinerary below, and all the must-sees and stops for your family.

Family Weekend Itinerary in Sunny Osoyoos BC

Osoyoos BC offers Canada’s warmest welcome … need I say more?! We recently visited this sweet and friendly town in the Okanagan Valley for a weekend of family fun and it did not disappoint! This sunny little town is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and Canada’s warmest freshwater lake. Located just 1 hour and 45 minutes from Kelowna, and not quite 5 hours from Vancouver, it’s the perfect spot for a weekend away! Today I’m sharing where to stay, where to eat and what to do for a family weekend in Osoyoos, BC.
