It’s no secret we love holiday books– we have a collection for each holiday of the year! Our Christmas collection has grown so large that I put together a Christmas book advent calendar! Below are 24 of our favourite Christmas books that are perfect for counting down to Christmas with children. Opening one book each day makes for a very special Christmas story time all December long.
One of our favourite fall traditions is our Halloween bookshelf, filled with fun spooky stories to get in the festive spirit! This collection of Halloween books is perfect for kids in elementary school– our first grader especially loves the silly jokes and sneaky plans to catch & scare a ghost. Enjoy!
With Fall just around the corner, the thought of busy schedules is lurking. Paired with an ever increasing amount of stuff and demands, no wonder we can become overwhelmed. This list of parenting books shares the common theme of connection. From being present, to simplifying, to focusing on love and togetherness, these inspiring reads shine light on the idea that sometimes less is more.
I hope you find some inspiration and helpful strategies for enjoying time together and parenting with love!
We are back for another round of #bookishplay, this week we are focusing on feelings with one of our all-time favourite books, The Pout Pout Fish! If you’ve checked out our Little Library section you’ll know that my girls love books. We’ve joined a movement on instagram (@mamawrites) to inspire young readers to have fun with the books they read through play!
We’ve joined a fun creative movement over on instagram (@mamawrites) to inspire book based play in little readers! Let’s get our kids excited about books through fostering stronger connections to reading. My girls love to play and to read, so why not combine these two loves and have a whole lot of fun?
We love to read about love and kindness, and these Valentines books are perfect to read with babies ages 0-2, particularly since they feature the things that a baby’s whole world revolves around: Mommy, Daddy, and lot’s of hugs and kisses! We also love giving books for gifts, and these make the perfect gift for your littlest Valentine!
Happy Reading! xo
Happy February– the month for all things love and kindness! Our first Valentine’s Day Little Library book round-up is for the preschoolers! These books have heartfelt messages, beautiful illustrations, and a few familiar faces from book series that this age group loves to read! We are always encouraging our kids to be kind, and it’s wonderful to read these thoughtful stories together that encourage kindness. We hope you LOVE these as much as we do! Happy Valentine’s Day! xo
Christmas is my favourite time of year, and, given my love for children’s books, it should be no surprise that kids’ Christmas books are one of my all time favourite things! We love to read these stories all month long as we get into the Christmas spirit! This first Christmas list (there’s more to come!) is a series of five little books that are perfect for younger kids age 0-2. Of course both my girls (age 2 & 4) read and love them, but I find these shorter board books particularly good for the littlest of readers! If you are looking for suggestions for preschoolers, check out our top picks here!
Happy Halloween! One of my fave ways to celebrate holidays– any and all holidays, that is– is with festive books! Here are five of our fave Halloween themed books this year. Our story time includes books for both of our girls’ ages (2 &4) : we all usually read a few books together before Aria goes to bed, rhyming board books are her jam, (and V knows most of the baby books by memory now, so sometimes she reads!) and then Vienna and I spend some time reading books with a bit more of a story line. And that Little Blue Truck? Always a hit with both kids 😉
We love to read! And I’m excited to start sharing books for reading with your little ones in my new Little Library section! To kick things off I’m sharing five of our most LOVED books, about love and life. These books always remind me that although this motherhood gig may be hard, it is so worth it. I hope you enjoy these special Little Library books as much as we do. xo
