Family Day 2020 in BC is Monday February 17. So mark your calendars and get ready to spend the day with your loved ones. Kelowna Family Day Events
Family Day Weekend at Big White
When: February 15, 2020 – February 17, 2020
Where: Big White Ski Resort, 5315 Big White Road, Kelowna
What: Fun family events all weekend long, including Cruz the Blues challenge; Jr. Chef Challenge; Family Channel Carnival Night; Fireworks; and a Family BBQ. See website for event times and listings.
Family Glow Night
When: February 15, 2020, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Where: Parknson Rec Centre, 1800 Parkinson Way, Kelowna
What: Kick-off your Family Day long weekend with a family glow dance party. There will be a DJ and fun party games! Admission is free and all ages are welcome.
Family Day at Kelowna Family Y
When: February 17, 2020, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: Kelowna Family Y, 375 Hartman Road, Kelowna
What: Public swim 9 am–5 pm; Family Barre Class 10:00 am – 11:00 am; Family Bootcamp 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm; Activities between 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m including face painting, crafts, bouncy castle, rock climbing wall, fun gym games and activities, and a healthy snacks bar.
Family Day at H20 Adventure & Fitness Centre
When: February 17, 2020, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: H20 Adventure & Fitness Centre, 4075 Gordon Drive, Kelowna
What: Spend some quality time playing together in the waterpark or enjoy fitness facilities with family members and friends with half-off admission. Public swim 9:00 am–5 pm. Waterslides, FlowRider and waterpark available 12:00 pm –4:30 pm
Family Day at the Downtown Kelowna Y
When: February 17, 2020, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: 1011-505 Doyle Ave, Kelowna
What: Connect with family members or friends at the newest Kelowna YMCA centre. Kids aged 10 and up are welcome! Try out a family cycle, boot camp, or yoga class together, or enjoy the fitness facility together.
Family Day at the Kelowna Art Gallery
When: February 17, 2020, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Where: Kelowna Art Gallery, 1315 Water Street, Kelowna
What: Visitors can explore current exhibitions and get creative with a hands-on printmaking activity.
Hockey: A Family Program at the Okanagan Heritage Museum
When: February 17, 2020, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Where: Okanagan Heritage Museum, 470 Queensway Avenue, Kelowna
What: Explore the feature exhibition “Hockey: More Than Just a Game”, design a hockey jersey and score big on the scavenger hunt. A museum hat trick!
Family Day Fun at CNC
When: February 17, 2020, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Where: Capital News Centre, 105 Gordon Drive, Kelowna
What: Kelowna’s largest Family Day party! Fun and games for the whole family including free skating (bring your own helmet), Park & Play inflatables, active games, soccer and more. Plus visit with local sport organization partners to collect stamps along the way and you could win prizes! Donations are greatly appreciated in support of Jumpstart.
Family Day Pony Rides
When: February 17, 2020, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Kyra Londos Training Stables, 6320 Postill Lake Road, Kelowna
What: Join us on our safe large pony and horses as we lead you around the pasture or arena. Pony rides are suitable for ages 2+. Riders should be strong enough to hold themselves upright. Parents or guardians are more than welcome to walk next to the horse or pony while we have an expert leading the horse. Pony rides are $15 for a 10 minute led ride.
3rd Annual Free Family Skate
When: February 17 2020, 4:30 pm – 5:45 pm
Where: Capitol News Centre
This fun evening of skating for Chute Lake Elementary community families. Free hot chocolate and skating! Follow the link for registration details.
West Kelowna Family Day Events
Family Day Skate
When: February 16, 2020, 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm and 2:45 pm – 4:00 pm
Where: Jim Lind Arena, 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna
What: Parent and tot skate is from 1:30 – 2:30 pm. $1/tot and $2/parent. Strollers are permitted. Public/Family Skate from 2:45 – 4:00 pm is open to everyone. No strollers or skating aids are permitted. Public skating is $4 per person, family admission is $10 (two adults max). Skate rentals are also available on a first come, first serve basis.

Vernon Family Day Events
Family Day Weekend at SilverStar
When: February 15-17, 2020 (see event page for specific times).
Where: SilverStar Mountain Resort, 123 Shortt Street, Vernon
What: A weekend of family fun at SilverStar, including 50% off tickets on Family Day! See the Okanagan Bernese Mountain Dog Group meet up in the SilverStar village on February 16 at 12 pm. Then watch the second of the SMITH rail jam series as participants show their style and tricks on rails at the end of the village. End the day with a BANG as a firework performance lights the SilverStar sky. KiKi the Eco Elf will be holding a dance party and sing-a-long in storybook village for all families on February 17 at 12:00 pm.

Gather around a bonfire with s’mores f and hot chocolate.

What:Join the Vernon Vipers and Queen and Princess Silver Star for an afternoon of skating! There will be bounce castles, mini golf and many other activities for kids of all ages to enjoy! This is a wonderful way to spend time with the family and support the local food bank. All food collected will be donated to the Valley First Feed the Valley Initiative. Vipers will be on the ice from 12-1pm – so don’t miss them. Admission at the door: $2.00 per person or $5.00 per family and a tin of food for the Food Bank
TKH Kids Club Dance Party

What: Join the Spectra and City of Penticton’s 3rd annual Family Day event. Activities include: all-day toonie pool admission at the Penticton Community Centre; Skate with the Penticton VEES at the Okanagan Hockey Group Training Centre; family skate at the SOEC; photo booth; games & a BBQ by donation on the SOEC plaza; complimentary hot chocolate and coffee. $2.00 skate rentals will be available.
