Kelowna’s Family Vacation Destination: The Delta Grand Okanagan Resort

Delta Grand Okanagan Resort

With the return of travel this spring, it’s the perfect time to book a family vacation! We were thrilled to spend a weekend at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort. It’s a wonderful family vacation destination, packed with family-friendly amenities. This was a staycation for us, but we truly felt like we were away on vacation! I am excited to share the top five reasons why we love this resort. This stay was kindly hosted by the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort, all views are my own.

1. Family-Sized Accommodations

As a family of five, spacious accommodations are essential for (enjoyable) family vacations! The resort’s residences are equipped with all of the amenities from home. There is a full kitchen (fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, stove and well-stocked dishes/supplies); a cozy living room with a fireplace; a dining area; a desk/work area; plenty of spacious bedrooms; bathrooms including a whirlpool tub; and a washer/dryer. (Amenities differ depending on accommodation booked). The resort’s guest room options also include larger room and suite options.

The second– or arguably most— important thing on our vacations is a good pool! My kids live for pool time and the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort’s pool does not disappoint! We’ve enjoyed this property in the summer and winter and both times the pool was a hit! There are two hot-tubs; a spacious indoor pool that stretches outdoors; and a large, meandering, resort-style seasonal outdoor pool. There is a also a locker room, plenty of lounge chairs, plus a seasonal outdoor bar for food and drinks!

I cannot say enough about the on-site restaurant OAK CRU Social Kitchen & Wine Bar and their family-friendly menu. Tons of options for kids and excellent variety made mealtimes easy! From the standard kids’ menu (macaroni & cheese, fried chicken) to much more variety– kids’ meat and cheese board (amazing!), fish and chips, and baked salmon– there is something for everyone. The breakfast menu is plentiful and delicious, too. We love the beautiful waterfront location and it’s easy to take the kids out for a little stroll along the lagoon if needed while you wait for your meal.Oak and Cru Kids Menu

Luminescence Dining Globe

We enjoyed brunch in Luminescence dining globe and it was an incredible, new experience for our family! Our kids were fascinated and we could contain our crazy meal antics in a lakefront, private space! Heaters and blankets are provided to keep you cozy. I highly recommend this for brunch, a special meal, or a birthday party!

The Cannery Marketplace

Another great option for take-away, baked goods, coffee and more is the Cannery Marketplace. This convenient stop inside the resort lobby features locally crafted food, beverages and seasonal products!

4. The Spa

Damara Day Spa is an incredible spot to unwind and sneak away for some kid-free time! Or, they also have a little goddess spa option for kids’ 10 and under. Their extensive service menu includes facials, pedicures, manicures, massage and body treatments, waxing, threading and tinting. They have couples or individual spa package options and a nice location that opens to a (seasonal) patio near the pool . My pedicure is one of the best I’ve ever had– I can’t wait to go back.
