Our Christmas in Kelowna family activity guide will look much different this year, but, there are still plenty of ways to get in the festive spirit, and support local businesses. This year’s guide includes everything from Christmas tree farms, to Christmas brunches, to online Craft fairs! Kelowna Christmas Tree Farms
Get in the Christmas spirit and put up your Christmas tree! Here is a selection of local tree farms to get your Christmas tree from. Grumpy’s Tree Farm is by far the most recommended tree farm in Kelowna, located off June Springs Rd. Make sure you check the opening times and dates for each of the tree farms as well as their COVID-19 protocols and regulations.

Skating & Winter Activities
Is there anything more Canadian than skating outdoors? City ice rinks are open for the 2020 season with social distancing measures in place:
- Stuart Park The outdoor skating rink downtown Kelowna will open on December 1, 2020. (This year there won’t be vendors for skate rentals or hot chocolate on site). UPDATE: Closed until further provincial health guidelines released on December 7.
- Public Skating: Pre-book your public skating online for four City rink locations.
Christmas Plays & Performances
Andrew Allen at the Rotary Centre for the Arts
When: December 4, 7:30 pm; December 5, 2:00 & 7:30 pm
What: Let multi-platinum singer/songwriter Andrew Allen bring you all the Christmas feels with a mix of originals, Holiday Classics, and his own top 10 hits in an intimate and ‘as close as you can be’ performance to usher in the season.

It’s a Wonderful Life (Virtual Show)
When: December 10th , 11th, 12th, 13th
What: This beloved holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers his life one fateful Christmas Eve with the help of an unlikely angel.

Sleigh Rides
Big White Sleigh Rides
When: Check the website for schedule and tickets! Dining sleigh rides are cancelled for 2020 but regular sleigh rides are open!
What: Take a step back in time with a ride on an old fashioned horse drawn sleigh in the winter wonderland of Big White. Enjoy hot chocolate while gliding through snow covered forest trails during your sleigh ride, a fantastic experience with the horses. This is the perfect family activity as all ages are welcome.

Silver Star Sleigh Rides
When: December 12 onward. Check website for specific dates & times, as well as new COVID 19 regulations and procedures.
What: This spectacular 45-minute tour meanders through Silver Star’s pristine wilderness trails to the Wild Horseman’s Cabin. Enjoy the magic with either the Hot Chocolate Ride or the Wild Horseman Dinner Tour. If you are looking for a magical experience at SilverStar, this is it.

Santa Brunches
Predator Ridge Christmas Brunch 2020
When: Sundays November 22 – December 20
What: à-la-carte menu brunch with some festive surprises for groups of up to 6 people. (Santa is not at brunch this year).
Hotel Eldorado Santa Brunch
When: Sundays in December
What: Order from the à-la-carte brunch menu, enjoy the festive decor and say hi to Santa and his elves!
